Analysis of the Archaeological Information System (paper in Bahasa)

Abstract

Information technology (IT) has an important role to play in developing organisation activities. As a result, management becomes more aware of many factors that affect to the changes of their environment and activities. In practice, the implementation of IT might give not only an impact on organizational change and culture but also has caused changing work practice, business structures and communication channels. This paper, "Telaah Sistem Informasi Kepurbakalaan" ("Analysis of the Archeological Information System"), describes the role of Information System and its implication to the organizational. Through analysis of some references, this paper provides An overview of information system (IS), Illustration on how IS has effected corporate culture by causing changing in many aspects such as work practice and business structures, and Explanation on how IS will give more benefits in the future.

Nowadays, IS is more closely tied with organizational productivity. That is why every organization tries to develop and manage IS properly. However, the issues that focus on the role of IS have given views which drives people into pro and contra opinions. Practically, organizations start to improve their plan by regarding IS as a business within a business, and identify how the IS business should be managed. The role of managers becomes important to determine some approaches needed in corporate planning. They should be aware that the IS implementation will lead to the changes of overall factors within organization such as the structure of jobs, culture, people and other organization practices.
